I Had a Birthday

I HAD A BIRTHDAY! They are the coolest things ever.

My birthday started with mom and dad waking me up by singing happy birthday to me. Then they got me out of bed and fed me breakfast. Mom surprised me by staying home from work to celebrate the whole day with me. Gar and Aunt Candy were there too, so that made the day even more special.

Around noon, Pam the picture lady came over to take my one year pictures! She is so much fun and her fotos are beautiful. Daddy came home for lunch to so I had my mommy and daddy there to watch me eat by birthday cake. At first I wasn't real sure about the whole thing, but that cake smelled so good, I couldn't help but stick my fingers in it. Then I tasted the first bite and oh my goodness, that chocolate stuff is the best thing ever! I could't get enough of it. I loved it so much I smooshed it all over my hair and on my face. I even tried to share it with mom and dad. Eventually I figured out that I didn't even need to use my hands I could just stick my whole face in the cake and eat it right from there! How cool! When we were done eating cake, daddy took me upstairs and gave me a bath in the middle of the day! You'd think I was messy or something.

Mom, Gar, Aunt Candy and me all went to lunch at a Chineese Buffet (yeah that's right they let me have cake before lunch!). I tried a few things including hard boiled eggs, but mostly I was entertained by all the people in the restaurant and my aunt's unusual choice of footwear.

I slept hard after that. All that sugar really made me sleepy.

For dinner we went to my favorite restaurant One World and I got to have hummus and falaffel and all sorts of yummy foods. When we got home I got to open some really cool presents. Wow what a day that was. I'm tired just writing about it. I'm gonna go lay down. Next time I'll tell you all about my birthday party and all the cool things I've learned since I turned one.

Baby its cold outside

Wow it is C-O-L-D. Mom and dad wrapped me up in blankets today when we left for school, but even through them, I was still freezing. I can't believe it can be this cold.

Mom and I stayed home yesterday because I puked all over her on Tuesday night. I wasn't feeling very good and slept almost the whole day. We did get some play time in though and I thought it was pretty cool to have mom all to myself. We got to sing and read books and have mac and cheese for lunch. And when I couldn't sleep in my crib, mom just held me so I could get some really good sleep.

We had a party this weekend for the people that mom works with. They were celebrating something about selling a lot of advertising last year. I had a blast. Once I got used to all the people in our house, I was running around talking and dancing for everyone. One of momma's friends even showed me all the cool things in her purse.

Well I should run, no really I should run, I've been sitting still too long.

Made it through Christmas

Hi everybody. It's been a busy couple of weeks playing with all my new toys and practicing my walking skills.
This thing called Christmas is pretty amazing. I woke up one morning, at 6:00 or so, and started out the day with daddy and a bottle, nothing unusual there. Then mom and dad took me out into the living room and there was the most amazing sight! Someone had come to the house while I was sleeping and left a ton of boxes under the tree. I think mom and dad were calling him Santa, but whatever his name is, he's super cool! I started ripping the paper off of the first box daddy handed me and then I figured out there was a toy under the paper! How cool! I played and played with the first toy until mom and dad said it was time to open the next one. They just kept handing me more presents to open. I had so much fun that day discovering all sorts of new things and playing with my mom and dad.

I'm really starting to get the hang of this playing thing and really enjoy sitting in front of my new doll house and moving all the pieces around. I really like to push buttons and put stuff in things and dance, boy do I like to dance. Every time I hear anything with a beat, I start to shake it!

The week after Christmas we travelled to South Bend to see Grandma and Grandpa Slott. They sure seemed happy to see me and I was excited to visit them. They have a great house for running in. I practiced running so much that I think I wore out Grandma. They had more presents for me, my favorite is the big bag of rubber duckies! I really like taking all the ducks out and putting them back in the bag.

While we were there we had two parties and I got to see my Great-Grandma, Aunt Diane and Uncle Dale, Aunt Jackie and Uncle Dave, Terry, Mary and Zoe, Kevin, Jeanine and Kerry. We had a lot of fun playing and running.

Mom and Dad were telling me that it is a new year now! I'm not completely sure what a year is yet, but they were excited that the new one started.

Now I'm back at school and able to kick back and relax with my buddies a bit. Mom and Dad are telling me that they are planning a birthday party, whatever that is.
Gotta run, it's almost nap time

Am I Old Enough to Hate Winter?

The only reason I ask is because I'm sick and I don't like it at all. Momma's sick too and she sounds really funny when she talks. I got sent home from school yesterday and daddy took me to the doctor. She looked in my ears and said I have an infection, what ever that means. All I know is that now I have to drink this yucky pink stuff that mom and dad try to put down my throat, but I do a pretty good job of spitting most of it back out.

The good news is that I got to stay home and play with dad yesterday and with mom today. We had lots of fun together. Man it sure does feel good to lay in their arms and take a nap. I'm feeling a lot better now and should be back at school tomorrow.

I've been a busy girl

Wow, a lot has happened around here since I posted here last.

My mom had surgery on her shoulder on the 20th. She is doing fine, but it has been a little hard for her to pick me up and play like we usually do. Lucky for her, I am really learning to do a lot on my own. Aunt Candy came to visit to help out mom while she gets better. The night she got here, I had to show off a bit and take my first steps all by myself. Everyone was so excited, I fell over!

Aunt Candy and I had so much fun together. We baked cookies and took walks all over the house. I even learned how to say "kitty cat".

For Thanksgiving, we went to mom's home town. We had Thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt Janel's house with my Cousins Hannah and Jacob and my Grandpa Mike and Grandma Helen. I got to eat turkey and stuffing and sweet potatoes and rolls and pumpkin pie and apple pie. Momma says she thinks I had a tummy ache the next day, but it sure was yummy.

On Friday we went shopping to buy some new Mizzou gear for mom and dad to wear to the football game. While we were there I got to meet SANTA CLAUS for the very first time. I sat on his lap and checked out his really cool beard and told him what I want for Christmas.

On Saturday mom and dad went to the MU vs KU game. IT was too cold for me to go with them, but my Aunt Janel let me watch it on the tv and cheer M-I-Z-Z-O-U!!!

Saturday night was the coolest night of them all. My cousin Hannah wrote, directed and starred in her very first play, "A Night With the King". She played the lead role of Princess Claire and my daddy played the King. I had a supporting role as Princess Clover, Princess Claire's little sister. I'm not sure, but I think Hannah has a real future in showbiz!

Well I should probably get to bed, momma has a bottle waiting.

You Learn Something New Everyday

Wow it is amazing how much I am learning everyday, even when I am not in school. Last night while mom and dad were eating dinner, I got a little bored sitting in my high chair eating crakers and mom and dad let me crawl around on the floor. I kept finding all sorts of cracker pieces that I had dropped and thought it was really cool that I could turn one piece of cracker into three just by squeezing it in my hand. I had a piece of cracker in each hand and was feeling pretty good about life when I noticed a third piece of cracker a few inches away. I crawled over to it (both hands still full with crackers) but couldn't figure out how I could get it since both hands were full. I sat there for a minute staring at the cracker when it hit me... I could just use my mouth. So that's what I did, I ate that cracker right off the floor, who needs hands anyway?

Countdown to turkey day has begun. Just over a week until I get to eat lots of turkey and mashed potatoes and green beans and of course some pumpkin pie. I've never had a thanksgiving before, but I sure think all the food sounds yummy.

I have a lot of things to be thankful for. All of my grandparents, my great-grandma, my aunts and uncles, my cousins, and of course my mom and dad. I am also thankful for my buddies at school, I have lots of fun with them. My teacher says that I have a partner in crime. I'm not too sure what that means, but we have lots of fun together. During lunch time my teacher sits me next to the boys because sometimes the other girls don't like it when I try to play with them while they eat.

I am also thankful for my kitty. Even though he doesn't really like me to pet him (mom says I'm pulling his hair) we have lots of fun peeking through the kitty door at each other. Man I can't wait until I can move a little faster and catch him.

I have lots more that I am thankful for, but mom limits me to five minutes a day on the internet.

Love you all!
